In the Top 10 UK breaks (New Consumer magazine), Llwyn-Dryssi is certainly one of the prettiest thatch cottages in West Wales. This is our first 'meat-free' cottage - we ask that nobody eats meat (or poultry/fish) when staying here - to provide a genuinely meat-free environment for dedicated vegetarians. This romantic 'bolt-hole' enjoys a peaceful location and far-reaching views of Llanllwni mountain. It's a great location is you want to walk on open countryside from the door, bring a mountain bike and enjoy virtually car-free country lanes, or just lie in bed all day without anyone noticing. CEGIN FAWR: Traditional 'Cegin Fawr' lounge with double-height ceiling, open-tread stairs to Croglofft over, cast-ron wood-burning stove (basket of fuel supplied), sofabed (and other sofa), Teletext TV (via Sky satellite, basic channels), DVD player, CD/ Radio stereo. Windows to three sides so you can enjoy the view. Slate floors with under-floor heating to all the ground floor. KITCHEN: Country kitchen with hand-made units from local woods under a slate work-top with Belfast sink, full-size oven, fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave, toaster, etc. Table and chairs. Windows to front and rear. BATHROOM: With new roll-top bath and (should you wish) door to the exterior if you fancy a bath with a view! Towels are provided. There is a washing machine in the lobby alongside. UPSTAIRS: Croglofft, A large, traditional bedroom with an open balcony to the Cegin Fawr below. Restricted head-room at the edges. Oak floor. Llwyn-Dryssi is one of our 'greenest' cottages, and sustainability has been behind every choice in this restoration; from the green-tariff under-floor heating, to the 2500 wine bottles used under the limecrete floor for insulation. It is a happy, healthy place. The bedlinen is 100% organic cotton, the doormats are produced from recycled rubber tyres and even the super-comfy duvets are spun from recyled plastic bottles! 'A beautiful & unique cottage in a magical place. We didn't feel the need to venture far. You should leave the television in the off position. Well-behaved dogs welcome, but note cats live next door. The track is fairly long & bumpy -all but the lowest sports cars would be fine. |
