Teach Mhicheal (Michael's Cottage, pronounced 'Tchach Veehill') is a traditional Donegal cottage built c1780. Restored in the 1980s, the cottage is a simple, peaceful, homely place to stay. Just 1.5 miles (20 mins. walk or 5 mins. in car) to Ballymastocker beach, named by the Observer as the 'second most beautiful beach in the world' (No. 1 was in the Seychelles). Located down a short private track off a quiet rural lane, the cottage is simply furnished with traditional antiques and a small kitchen & shower room. No television...no internet, but owners Michael and Margaret will have the turf fire lit ready for your arrival, and there is typically some locally-made sodabread ready on the table.
