about the property

Pretty traditional thatched cottage near Cardigan Bay, Ceredigion

This pretty riverside cottage really embodies the 'Under The Thatch' ethos - this is the perfect romantic holiday location, close to the fabulous beaches of Cwmtydu and Llangrannog. With its own river and wildlife on your doorstep you may not want to move very far from the door!

The cottage is nestled in a peaceful steep sided valley and sits in two thirds of an acre of private gardens (on the site of an ancient defensive mound).  Fruit trees mark the banks of the River Fothau, where a pretty waterfall may be seen. There's a small pond (where frogs spawn each year) fed by rainwater from the hills behind. There is a fire pit in the garden where you can sit under the stars and roast marshmallows, with a crackling fire to toast your toes.

Walks directly from the house lead into an ancient woodland, skirting the Wales Coastal Path, over a mountain ridge to the beach of Cwmtydu.
