Glan Cader

Wow, what a magical stay. The cottage is beautiful and every detail has been thought of. The surroundings bring such peace. The whole place is steeped in history and amazing walks. We loved meeting Marilyn and Kevin… what beautiful souls. Thank you for sharing your bit of paradise with us.

We had a lovely stay at Glan Cader and highly recommend it for its location for great walks on your doorstep. The interior of the property is beautiful and beds really comfy. The only downside is the low pressure on the shower but it’s just one of those you need to accept with a remote location like this. Met the owners who were lovely:) We were also lucky that the property next door was not booked out and so our dog Morris had full freedom to roam. We will certainly look to book again.

We had a lovely long weekend stay in this delightful cottage. The accommodation served as a welcome retreat and base for exploring the area, and the amazing welsh countryside. Beautiful decor and so homely. Wish we had booked for longer.

What a fabulous week we have had at Glan Cader. The cottage exceeded our expectations and is a beautifully renovated historic gem. Its location in incredible scenery on the route to Cader Idris is very special. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely owners also. Fantastic beds and dog friendly! What an absolutely amazing stay. The cottage was perfect and the setting breathtaking. So many amazing walks and trips to be done in the surrounding area and perfect for adults as well as our toddler! All the little details are taken care of by the amazing and friendly owners - we really appreciated the child friendly cutlery and crockery! We wish we’d had more than a weekend! Thanks ever so much - we’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful well equipped cottage in the middle of nature at a farm. Perfect to find peace and relax. Walks literally start in front of the house. After the walks it was great to enjoy the comfort of the house and a well deserved bed rest.

A sweet cottage in an exquisite surrounding. A wonderful welcome from the hosts who live next door some of the time. A magical valley with stunning walks.

Excellent period cottage with beautiful interior in a quiet peaceful location , great for walking and biking,a trek up Cader idris from the quiet side we only encountered one person on the route up to were you join the main approach Superb scenery off the beaten track but only a short drive to local amenities. The very friendly owners were very welcoming and the lovely sunny garden a real treat. Would highly recommend this cottage five stars and we will be back.

This cottage is wonderful. Set deep in romantic mountains, lovingly restored and full of quirky details. You can hike from the doorstep, or a short drive to the beach. Well equipped and cosy, with everything you need. 5 stars!

Lovely cottage and hosts in a wonderful location.

We had a wonderful few days at Glan Cader. The cottage has been sensitively restored and beautifully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen and comfy bed. It's very cosy even in the depths of winter. The location is gorgeous, utterly peaceful and quiet with lots of great walks from the door. I'm sure we'll be back.

Truly magical place.The cottage was absoutely beautiful. The interior was simply elegant with beautiful Welsh fabrics and slate and I loved the little seating area outside for my first coffee of the day and a glass of wine after sunset to watch the moon and clear skies with my daughter. The kitchen was one of the best equipped that we ever came across. The weather was very kind to us despite it being end of October and we mostly relied only on the incredibly efficient log burner in the evenings. The surrounding area is enough to keep one wondering and rambling for days, with river, castle ruins, wide and narrow paths but there are also endless opportunities to explore beautiful towns, coast, railways and other child friendly attarctions within short drive. The owners were lovely to communicate with and wonderfully kind when they posted for free my daughter's bits that we left behind. We really hope to be able to return and have recommended the cottage to many friends already. Thank you!

A lovely cottage, with all you need for a restful break. It’s a great location with stunning views and plenty to do nearby.

What a beautiful cottage. The owners have done a wonderful job with the renovation, it has been tastefully decorated to a very high standard. The beds were extremely comfortable with super soft cotton bedding, and the kitchen was fully equipped for all eventualities. Great location for walking, with an enclosed garden with stunning views. It was very hot during our stay so it was a bonus to have thick walls and cool floors after a long day walking. The wood burner looked fabulous so I expect it’s very cosy in winter. All in all a very comfortable stay…however as it’s very rural I would recommend downloading some TV programmes to take with you, as is the case with most rural properties the broadband can be intermittent.

Lovely being the first guests at Glan Cader. We loved it. Great walking from the door and secure garden for the dog always a bonus. Cosy, comfy, and welcoming.
