about the property

Priced for up to 2 staying, sleeps 2. New for spring 2024 - Y Felin is a small converted mill owned by friends, in a tranquil Preseli mountain location.

  • Best Place to Stay in Pembrokeshire, 2024 (James Stewart, The Times).

This cute little detached mill has been meticulously renovated by friends Robin and Yoshie - an artist and ceramicist who live and work on the same smallholding of ten acres.

Stay here to really feel like you're a part of the beautiful Preseli mountains, with huge open views and access to a garden sauna and cold-dipping pool (a modest fee applies to use the sauna, which can be arranged after arrival). Signposted public footpaths start at the property boundary, or it's only 20/25 minutes to some of the finest sandy beaches in West Wales.

This really feels like a 'handcrafted' home, with bespoke quality fittings throughout. Although not even 50 yards from the owner's home, it's a clever design that gives you private access, gardens and views. If there are more than two of you then it's possible to book the larger Dolaumaen Isaf down the track.

customer reviews for *New - Y Felin at Dolaumaen Isaf

We had a wonderful few days at Y Felin. Such a tranquil place, with views to drown in. The cottage (Mill really!) is stunning inside, with everything you could need. Robin’s pottery is a tactile wonderment - the glazes are divine - and they are placed everywhere, inside and out for you to enjoy. We loved our little stay, were sad to leave and would love to return. It’s a perfect place to stay. Thank you

Yoshie and Robin are perfect hosts: this cottage is everything my sister and me had been hoping for! It is super cozy, with a great & comfy bed, a wood stove, a comfy couch and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean and arranged and decorated with much care, thought and love for details - you could definitely tell that it was the work of two artists. We loved every minute of our 3-nights-stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. There are great walks in the quiet countryside and the domain itself is very inviting to spend time exploring. Make sure to not miss Robin’s pottery, his work is amazing!

A lovely peaceful place to stay with the sound of the stream trickling in the background and a view of the Preselli hills. The mill is cleverly furnished and didn't feel small, with all amentities we could wish for. We came to walk in the hills, and were able to do that from the door. The weather wasn't kind to us, but we'd like to return to spend more time on the little terrace or in the field below the mill. Also one of the comfiest beds we've ever slept in.
