The Accommodation

A beautiful, detached cottage farmhouse with good views of the Skirrid mountain. Built in the late 1400s, fitted with floors and fireplace in early 1600s Efail Lingoed is a lesson in the local vernacular, the house has a calm, rustic feel with limewashed walls, a huge open fire, mullion windows and heavy oak beams. The house is surprisingly original to the 17th century, but Efail Lingoed's chief delight is its gardens with Tudor-style box hedging, antique roses, herb garden, ancient yew tree and wildflower meadow. The area is stuffed with famous eateries, farmers markets and good local food and the cottage enjoys a Rayburn stove.  Peaceful location, short walk from pub with food. Extra photos here and guest blog & 5* independent review.

Customer Comments

"Its been both a privilege and a pleasure staying here. Thank you so much for letting us experience history, mixed with comfort and peace."  ~  Ian Fryatt from Ireland

"What a gem of a cottage!! The master bedroom is breathtakingly beautiful, you can lie in bed and see the mountain and touch the ancient oak beams. It's like stepping back in time."  ~ Jenny Grimes from London

"Peaceful and quite wonderful - a special place surrounded in the most lovely of gardens.  Joan, my wife, picked herbs and cooked on the rayburn. My job was to keep the huge old fire place roaring away, usually with a glass of red in one hand and a poker in the other. We shall be back next year."  ~  Mr Purnell, London
