The Accommodation

New for summer 2010! Small is beautiful, and tiny Popty Pennant is a gem of a cottage. This romantic converted bakehouse in the garden of an upland manor house (Plas Pennant) on the Chirk castle estate,  is classic 'Under the Thatch' stuff - perfectly conserved using authentic materials and furnished with love. The restoration of this cottage has been the pet project of Cadw's Building Inspector in North Wales, and it shows in the remarkable attention to detail (Cadw is the state body for Welsh heritage). Book this cottage and enjoy access over the beautiful gardens of the manor, great walking in the area, and visit the charming heritage towns around, of which Llangollen and Chirk are just the start. Apparently all the recent tenants of the bakehouse went on to marry, so this must be a perfect spot for romance. Extra photos here as well as general views. Guests made a mini video here & holiday snaps.
