Beudy Bendigaid ('Magnificent Cowshed'!) is a traditional
West Wales farm building converted in 2007 into a spacious
2 bedroom cottage with a contemporary interior. It sits
in a peaceful location near the West Wales coast (2.5 miles
or 7 minute drive to the famous beaches of Llangrannog or
Penbryn).
Renovated by a pair of designers (one a fashion designer,
the other a graphic designer) this is a modern conversion
with stylish décor and furnishings. It is immaculately
kept and has the feel of a boutique hotel.
The Beudy sits next to (but facing away from) its stone-built
former farmhouse, and both are at the end of a private lane
that is easily accessible from the main coast road.
Although
close to the main house it isn't over-looked and all the
windows face across the lovely Hoffnant valley. Click
here for an aerial photo.
The cottage doesn't have Broadband but only a 20 minute (12 mile) drive up the coast to the Harbourmaster where you can enjoy free wireless Broadband over a coffee/ drink or award-winning seafood. You'd probably want to visit the charming harbour at Aberaeron during your stay anyway.
This property isn't suitable for toddlers, but young babies
in cots and children age 5 or over are welcome. Be aware
that there are un-protected pools in the garden which may
be dangerous for young children.
You can arrange a Welsh food hamper to be ready for your arrival through this local company.
In detail:
Large living area on the first floor with
wood-burning stove (first basket of logs supplied). 28”
television (digital channels), video and DVD players and
a quality CD stereo.
The dining area has a large oak table
The kitchen is equipped to a very high
standard with a good electric cooker and hobs, fridge, separate
freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven and washing machine
all in stainless steel.
At either end of the ground floor are two good sized bedrooms
with a large family bathroom between.
Bedroom 1 has a traditional double bed,
a wall mounted colour television and French doors out onto
the patio.
Bedroom 2 has two single beds and a wall
mounted colour television.
The bathroom is tiled throughout and has
a white modern bathroom suite and separate generous shower
cubicle.
Outside there is a large, enclosed private patio
to the front with teak patio set, and steps down to the
rest of the 4 acres of (shared-use) garden with a series
of ponds, walks and woodland.
The cottage is fully centrally heated but also has a wood
burning stove in the living area for cosy nights in.
It is possible to arrange meals and cooked breakfasts (in
farmhouse) for a surcharge if required. The main farmhouse
provides excellent Bed & Breakfast accommodation if
your party is greater than 4.
