The Accommodation

Treat yourselves to somewhere really VERY special - Conde Nast Traveller - Top Five 'best spots to enjoy the British Seaside' (July 2012) 'Wendy has reached her final staging post - between the beaches of Aberporth and Tresaith. The only neighbours are the birds...this is the perfect place for toasting crumpets after a day's walking or dolphin-spotting' (Sally Shalam for Conde Naste Traveller magazine).

2013 - The Independent named Wendy one of the best sites in the UK to spot bottle-nosed dolphins and seals!

Enjoy some of the finest views in Wales from our converted Edwardian railway carriage located on the coastal footpath between the sandy beaches at Aberporth and Tresaith. See photos inside this converted railway carriage. Many guests see Europe's largest colony of bottle-nose dolphins in th ebay in front, and direct access to the heritage coast footpath makes Wendy the ideal location for exploring the West Wales coast. Peaceful location with no roads within 300 yards. You can catch sea bass and mackerel on lines from the rocks in front of the carriage. Read an independent review of Wendy from the travel section of the Guardian newspaper or see the local coast as captured in an amateur video. See real guest holiday albums here, here, here, here and here.

Customer Comments

'We saw dolphins every day just in front of the carriage, and loved watching the rabbits in the back field. Every day we walked to a different beach.' ~ Susan and Sean

'From the moment we arrived we felt that we had stepped aboard Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express - it is simply magical! Aberporth, Wendy, the surrounding beaches, views, wildlife and walks all exceeded our expectations.' ~Russell & Sally from Cheshire

'Wendy is fantastic - what a location! Our 8 & 7 year olds have had a great time - crabbing, swimming in the sea, sandcastles and the simple pleasures of childhood.  ~  Stuart, Nicola, Akex & Hamish from Penarth

Booking Notes

300m walk along the coastal footpath (flat, tarmac path) from the parking area. Recommended maximum 4 adults as the single bed is narrow train bunk. There is usually on-street parking available but please be mindful of local residents access (we have had a few complaints), and park with due regard to safety. We've never seen it when free on-street parking was not available. There is a Community Car Park nearby which can be used but be aware in peak season the car park charges up to 3.00 GBP a day. Garden enclosed but note nearby cliffs potentially dangerous for small children. No cot or highchair.
