is certainly one of the prettiest
thatch cottages in West Wales. This romantic 'bolt-hole'
enjoys a peaceful location and far-reaching views of Llanllwni
mountain and has (free) Wireless Broadband access.
This is our first 'meat-free' cottage, and
we believe the first in the UK. We ask that nobody eats
meat (or poultry/fish) when staying here - to provide a
genuinely meat-free environment for dedicated vegetarians.
Holidays should be about new experiences and we believe
that taking a break from meat is great for you and the environment.
Hence if you are a meat eater we ask that you only eat meat
away from the cottage (NB pet food for dogs is fine).
Veggie cookbooks are supplied, and we can supply veggie
food hampers (and occasional evening meals) on request.
It isn't far to a Vegetarian Society approved restaurant
or the vegetarian/ vegan cafe
and wholefood shop in Lampeter is just 5 miles
Stay at Llwyn-Dryssi if you are looking for a peaceful bolt-hole
where you can escape the world and take a few days to relax,
enjoy the views and read a good book.
It's a great location is you want to walk on open countryside
from the door, bring a mountain bike and enjoy virtually
car-free country lanes, or just lie in bed all day without
anyone noticing.
If mountain biking is your bag you'll love the trails at nearby Abergorlech forest.
When you do venture out there is plenty to do locally, and the famous West Wales coast is within a half hour drive, or it isn't far to the many famous gardens of Carmarthenshire or castles like Carreg Cennen.
Llwyn-Dryssi is one of our 'greenest' cottages, and sustainability
has been behind every choice in this restoration; from the
green-tariff under-floor heating to the 2500 wine bottles
used under the limecrete floor for insulation. It is a happy,
healthy place.
The bedlinen is 100% organic cotton, the doormats are
produced from recycled rubber tyres and even the super-comfy
duvets are spun from recyled plastic bottles!
Llwyn-Dryssi is located down a half-mile long private track
shared by the farmhouse next door. Although the track is
bumpy all but the lowest sports cars will manage it fine.
Robin lives here and you can chat to him about how the cottage
was rescued from a roofless ruin. He can also deliver ready
cooked vegetarian/ vegan meals on request, when he is around.
The charming town of Lampeter is a 12 minute drive (4 miles
or under) and the end of the M4 at Carmarthen just 25 minutes
by car (hence Llwyndryssi is easily accessible from the
South of England).

country lanes from the door. Note that a couple of cats
live at the farmhouse next door.
