Named in the 'Top 10 UK cottages for Lovers' (Sunday Telegraph 30 03 08). Below is an unabridged version of what their reviewer Kate Smallwood said:

'There are so many romantic features here, you're spoilt for choice. A traditional coastal cottage, it has direct beach access and a beachside hot tub. You can wander onto the beach in the morning, coffee in hand, or lie in bed and look out to sea. With a great interior renovated in 2007, it's the perfect base to explore the Pemborkeshire coastal footpath'.

Lots of people talk about being a 'stone's throw' to the beach, but this cottage is ON the beach and there are no fences, gates or barriers between you and the water. Add to that the fact it has a top-of-the-range new hot-tub and we think that this one is a winner!

Pen-y-Parrog ('Head of the Parrog Beach') also has some celebrity history as this was Rosie Probert's cottage in the famous film of Under Milk Wood. Rosie was played by Elizabeth Taylor, and Pen-y-Parrog chosen as an absoutely typical West Wales cottage.

The cottage is a typical early 1800s two-storey stone-built cottage with a 'grouted' roof typical of this part of North Pembrokeshire. The interior has been completely renovated in 2007 to a high standard and a modern style.

The garden leads directly onto the Parrog beach (mostly shingle) and has a timber-cabin with a quality hot-tub for you to enjoy the sea-views in any weather and at any time of the year.

Dramatic country and coastal walks start at the door- you won't find a better place to stay if you want to explore the famous Pembrokeshire coastal footpath. The cottage is also on a National Cycle Network.

The cottage sits in a hamlet of half a dozen tightly-clustered homes at the end of The Parrog beach, just a short walk along the beach from Goodwick or down the hill from Fishguard town.

This is our best cottage if you are travelling by public transport as you can walk to the cottage from Fishguard train station, there is a choice of good food and drink within a short walk, and the coastal footpath and cycle network are just yards away. You can even walk to the ferry terminal and take a day-trip to Ireland for under £20!

See pages of extra photos of this cottage here or an aerial photograph that is centred on the roof of your cottage or here for a map.

Kitchen - well equipped and newly fitted with views out to sea as you prepare dinner! Dishwasher, fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave and a breakfast table.

Lounge/ Dining Room - A large open-plan room which covers the whole of the ground floor of the original cottage. Quality cast-iron woodburner (first basket of logs supplied) three sofas (one a sofabed) and large dining table that comfortably seats 8. Double French doors to the garden with wonderful sea views. Stairs to second floor. Large-screen TV & DVD player.

Shower-room and toilet to ground floor with mains-powered double shower.

Small 'Utility' area with washing machine, washing line in garden.

Master bedroom (double) with the best sea view in the house and an armchair to enjoy it. Like the rest of the house this room has newly-fitted oak floors.

En-suite bedroom - A second double-bedroom with newly-fitted en-suite shower room off.

Bunk room - The smallest bedroom with bunk beds, sleeps 2, most suitable for children.

Plenty of outside space in the large garden that runs directly down and onto the beach. Garden furniture, barbeque, and timber cabin with an excellent quality hot-tub!

Centrally-heated throughout with wood-burning stove. Note that there is no barrier between the lawn and the start of the beach (or need for one) but this may provide a potential risk for toddlers.

Stay here if you'd like to.....

Most people come here just to unwind and escape, but when you do decide to go out you can't miss the dramatic Strumble Head landscape and coastal footpath. Why not walk to the famous lighthouse and wildlife look-out? You might even see dolphins!

No other area in Britain has so many Blue Flag beaches as here - surfers will love Whitesands - check the daily surf forecast here.

Or there are 51 forts and castles to see in the county! Our favourite day-trip is to Britain's smallest city - St Davids - a fantastic drive, just 25 minutes.

If you like art you'll love this area - probably more artists live here than anywhere in the UK. Our favourite is Chris Neale who specialises in painting grouted cottage like Pen-y-Parrog.

To find out more about Pembrokeshire check out the excellent county website.

If you get bored of the sea then just head inland to see the Preseli Mountains with their impressive archaeology.

Goodwick harbour is just a 5 minute walk with day-trips to Ireland!) as well as shops, pubs and takeaway food.

Fishguard town is charming and just up the hill with a choice of restaurants and plenty of art and craft galleries.

Or shop for the famous interiors goods at nearby Melin Tregwynt.

If you love good food then Pembrokeshire has its own food guide there are so many choices! We love Llys Meddyg in nearby Newport for a special meal out.

Bwthyn traddodiadol, gwyngalchog yw Pen-y-Parrog, yn cysgodi wrth waelod y creigiau ar ddiwedd y Parrog yn Abergwaun. Ar waelod yr ardd, mae'r môr yn ei ogoniant – neu os yw dwr-y-mor yn rhy oer i chi, mae'n gysurus yn y twba twym, nos neu ddydd, glaw neu hindda.

Dim ond camu o'r lawnt sydd eisiau a byddwch ar y traeth, sy'n hoff le i nifer o adar gwyllt. Ond efallai dewis aros yn yr ardd y gwnewch chi, i ymlacio yn y twba twym, sydd mewn ty bach twt iddo'i hun, a golygfeydd gwych o Pen Dinas a'r gorwel pell.

Cafodd Pen-y-Parrog gyfle i fod yn fyd enwog unwaith! Pan ffilmiwyd Under Milk Wood gan Dylan Thomas yn y cwm yn Abergwaun, defnyddiwyd Pen-y-Parrog fel cartre Rosie Probert, a actiwyd gan neb llai nag Elizabeth Taylor ei hun.

Mae'r bwthyn yn nodweddiadol iawn o'r traddodiad lleol, gyda tho llechi wedi ei orchuddio'n llwyr, fel llawer o'r rhai tebyg yng Ngogledd sir Benfro. Adnewyddwyd y bwthyn yn llwyr yn 2007 ac mae'r dodrefnu nawr yn ffres a chwaethus.

Cymysgedd o dywod a cherrig mân yw'r traeth; lle da i gasglu cregyn gleision i swper. O'r ty bach twt pren, gallwch eistedd yn y dwr twym a rhyfeddu at yr olygfa ar yr un pryd. Gyda'r drysau ar gau, rydych yn glyd ar unrhyw adeg o'r flwyddyn.

Mae Llwybr Arfordir Sir Benfro wrth y drws, yn llythrennol, ac bydd rhyfeddodau'r arfodir yn sicrhau gwyliau gwych i unrhyw un sy'n hoffi cerdded. Mae llwybr beicio sy'n rhan o'r Rhwydwaith Cenedlaethol, hefyd yn pasio heibio i'r bwthyn.

Slawer dydd, bythynnod morwyr oedd y casgliad bychain o gartrefi ar y pen yma i'r Parrog, sy'n rhedeg o waelod Abergwaun draw i Wdig ar hyd y traeth. ‘Mariner' oedd yn byw yma yn 1820.

Dyma ein bwthyn mwyaf hwylus os byddwch yn cyrraedd ar drafnidiaeth cyhoeddus. Gallwch gerdded o'r orsaf dren, gallwch feicio neu gerdded ar hyd llwybrau pwrpasol, neu hyd yn oed gerdded i'r harbwr a chroesi i'r Iwerddon am lai nag £20!

Am ragor o luniau o'r bwthyn, pwyswch fan hyn; neu dewiswch weld llun o'r awyr sy'n dangos to Pen-y-Parrog; ac mae map hefyd ar gael.

Cegin - Offer pwrpasol, ffwrn feicrodon a ffwrn nwy, oergell, peiriant golchi llestri, bwrdd i gael brecwast a golygfa wych o'r môr wrth i chi baratoi cinio.

Lolfa / Ystafell Fwyta - Mae un stafell fawr yn rhedeg o un pen y bwthyn gwreiddiol i'r llall. Mae llosgwr coed effeithiol (a basgedaid o goed tân am ddim), 3 soffa (un yn wely-soffa) a ford ar gyfer o leiaf 8 person. Drysau Ffrengig yn arwain mas i'r ardd a golygfa wych. Grisiau i'r llofft. Teledu a pheiriant DVD.

Ystafell Gawod a Thoiled. Cawod ddwbl, dwr o'r prif system wresogi.

Man golchi dillad, gyda pheiriant awtomatig arferol. Lein ddillad tu fas.

Prif ystafell wely - Dyma'r stafell gyda'r olygfa orau o'r cyfan, a chadair esmwyth o'i blaen. Llawr derw newydd, fel yng ngweddill y bwthyn.

Ail stafell wely ddwbl a stafell en-suite newydd ar y pen gyda chawod ynddi.

Trydydd stafell gysgu yn cynnwys dau wely ‘bunk', delfrydol ar gyfer plant.

Mae gwres canolog nwy yma, a'r llosgwr coed ar ben hynny.

Gardd gyda digon o le ynddi, caban pren sy'n cynnwys y twba twym, barbeciw nwy, celfi eistedd a bwyta tu fas. Noder nad oes unrhyw ffens na iet rhwng yr ardd a'r traeth, felly byddai angen gofal cyson ar blant bach.

Dewch i aros yma os hoffech chi:

Ymlacio a mwynhau ar lan y môr – dyna yw nod y mwyafrif. Ond gallwch hefyd grwydro i fannau dramatig fel Pen Strwmbwl a Phwllderi, a dilyn Llwybr yr Arfordir faint a fynnoch. Ewch i weld y goleudy neu i wylio dolffiniaid a morloi ar rai adegau o'r flwyddyn.

Mae dewis eang o draethau Baner Las yn yr ardal hon. Os hoffech syrffio, mae Traeth Mawr ger Tyddewi yn wych. Pwyswch yma i weld sut donnau sydd yn cael eu haddo ar ddiwrnod arbennig.

Does dim prinder o gestyll ac adeiladau hanesyddol yn y sir chwaith. Neu ewch i ryfeddu at yr eglwys gadeiriol yn Nhyddewi. Taith car o ryw 25 munud.

Os oes diddordeb gyda chi mewn gwaith celf, byddwch yn dwlu ar yr ardal hon, lle mae cynifer o artistiaid yn byw. Yn eu plith y mae Chris Neale, sy'n hoff iawn o ddarlunio bythynnod traddodiadol tebyg i Pen-y-Parrog.

Os am wybod mwy am sir Benfro ewch i'r wefan ardderchog sydd gan y sir.

Petaech rhyw ddiwrnod yn syrffedu ar y môr, mae Mynydd y Preseli yn llawn rhyfeddodau a chysylltiadau â'n llenyddiaeth.

Mae harbwr Wdig ar ben arall y Parrog, ac o fanna gallwch hwylio i Iwerddon. Mae siopau bwyd, tafarnau ac ati yn Wdig hefyd.

Dringwch lan y rhiw a chewch weld trysorau bach yn nhref Abergwaun, yn siopau, orielau a bwytai (rydym yn hoff iawn o'r un Eidalaidd). Mae cofeb fach dwt i D.J.Williams a llun mewn brodwaith o gamp Jemima Niclas yn erbyn y Ffrancwyr ymhlith y pethau mwyaf difyr i ni'r Cymry. Am bethau cain i'r ty, beth am ymweld â Melin Tregwynt?

Mae digon o ddewis a digon o arweiniad hefyd os yw'ch bryd ar fwyta'n dda.. Rydym yn argymell Llys Meddyg yn Nhrefdraeth os bydd achlysur arbennig i'w ddathlu.

'Being a massive Dylan Thomas fan I was so excited about your cottage being used for Under Milk Wood and to think that I`ve actually stayed there! I've got my own DVD of the film so I`ll have to watch it again; I didn`t even realise that lower town Fishguard was where it was filmed. We've really enjoyed our stay, so cosy and warm. ' ~ Nicola Hughes and family, Blackwood, stayed October 2007
