Tŷ Rownd looks like something straight out of a fairytale.
Thatch roof, pink limewashed walls and a tiny size that
makes you think that the little-people live there.
The good news is that you can live there too - for a holiday!
Tŷ Rownd has two things going for it - it is as cute as
anything, and it is in Aberaeron
- one of the prettiest small harbours in Britain.
So we're talking 'pretty' on all accounts and you can walk
down by the lovely riverside walk to the beach in ten minutes
or to great seafood restaurants
and to the fantastic National Trust Llanerchaeron
estate.
A great location for people that want to arrive, leave the
car, and have everything within a 10 minute walk. Or this
cottage is reasonably accessible by public transport. The cottage doesn't have broadband but only a 10 minute walk to the Harbourmaster where you can enjoy free wireless Broadband over a coffee/ drink or award-winning seafood.
The house was built at the end of the eighteenth century
in a picturesque style and amazingly has never been extended
or enlarged from its original plan.
It is so small that Noddy could live here, and we love
it. Located just inside the town boundary with mature trees
about and nice local walks.
Inside has been completely modernised by a previous owner
and the interior is clean, bright and modern - surpisingly
modern for a cottage of this age, but done well.
The ground floor has an open-plan kitchen-diner and lounge
area.
There is a small rear lobby and shower room, and over half
the groundfloor is a croglofft double bedroom.

for the location.
You can arrange a Welsh food hamper to be ready for your arrival through this local company.
Kitchen - Modern kitchen with all the appliances that you
would expect - full-size cooker, fridge (with ice box) and
microwave.
Lounge - with leather sofabed (note that this cottage is
small, you may be cramped if more than 2 adults stay). TV,
DVD player, CD radio, a retro- styled 'woodburner' in a
small inglenook is currently gas-fired (so real flame) but
may be changed to a log wood-burner in the autumn.
Shower room and toilet - small but adequate.
Croglofft - double bedroom on mezzanine with standard
double bed, balcony with view over to ground floor. Restricted
headroom in parts.
Parking to front and small enclosed front garden.
Decking patio area with good views and picnic bench. Note
that well-behaved dogs are welcome at this cottage.
Ty Rownd is on the Aeron valley side of town, and you
can easily walk to the lovely National Trust Llanerchaeron
estate just 1.5 miles down a leafy footpath.
Or in 10 minutes walk you can be on the beachfront, or
harbour.
Pretty much everything that you will need is within walking
distance - great seafood restaurant at the Harbourmaster
(some of the best food in Wales), choice of shops, takeaways,
and two great chip shops. Getting a bag of chips and sitting
on the harbour wall watching the boats come in is a tradition
here.
Travel cot and high chair available on request. Guests to bring own cot bedding.
Like all Under the Thatch accommodation, this property is entirely non-smoking inside.
