Capel Pennant is a converted estate chapel in the gardens of one of Wales' most beautiful upland manor houses (Plas Pennant), on the Chirk castle estate. It has been beautifully furnished - in fact we consider this one of our best interiors - but the chief delight is the wonderful open view down the famous Ceiriog valley. The restoration has been the pet project of Cadw's Inspector of Historic Buildings in North Wales, and as you'd expect it shows in the remarkable attention to detail (Cadw is the state body for Welsh heritage). Book this property and enjoy access over the handsome gardens of the manor, great walking in the area, and visit the charming heritage towns around, of which Llangollen and Chirk are just the start. This location is relatively accessible via public transport. You may need a taxi or to ask for a lift at the start and end of your holiday if you have heavy cases, but otherwise there are local public transport services available within walking distance. You can get information on UK transport services from Transport Direct using a destination postcode of LL20 7AT.

Train to Chirk (3 miles from cottage) and then taxi, or you can bus up Ceiriog valley and walk the final 1.5 miles (uphill). It may be possible to arrange pickups from Chirk station, depending on availability of owners. There's a direct train from London Marylebone station to Chirk on the Wrexham Shropshire line.
