A traditional Welsh farmhouse, Tyn-y-Simdde is tucked away at the end of it’s own track and overlooking the beautiful Hermon Valley, at the heart of the world-renowned walking and cycling area of Coed y Brenin Forest Park. Tyn-y-Simdde has been in the same family ever since it was saved from destruction in the 1950s. Now lovingly restored, using reclaimed and sustainable materials, lime plaster, and with many of its older features uncovered, it is a peaceful and unforgettable experience. The cottage is simple but comfortable with an open fire - At night, with only a few other houses in the valley, you can see stars like you’ve never seen before in a silence broken only by the sound of owls, and the local deer coming down from the forest to graze. See extra photo album here The cottage has modern, efficient electric storage heating throughout, a woodburner and a gas fire. It was fully renovated in 2011/12 Ground floor:

We stayed in the cottage over Christmas and we absolutely loved it. The location is beautiful and quiet, but just a few minutes walk away there are fantastic walks, stunning waterfalls, and great mountain bike tracks. The house is lovely with a lot of attention to detail (Marit even decorated it with some Christmas themed decoration, which was really sweet!) and comfort. We’re really looking forward to coming back! 'We had three days of secluded bliss at Tyn y Simdde, a beautifully restored stone cottage in the welsh fields, without the sniff of a neighbour nearby! It was wonderfully equipped with all you could need and we enjoyed walks and bike trails from your doorstep (watch out for the steep hill on the way back!). We will be recommending to families and friends and hope to be back to enjoy the beautiful surroundings in the summer!' Well-behaved pets are welcome. But please be aware that there are sheep fields adjacent to the cottage and deer roaming free in the forest, and for everybody`s sake we would ask that dogs be kept on a lead, particularly at lambing time. |
