about the property

NEW for 2024 - Tŷ Gin is a large and luxurious conversion of an 18th-century barn on the Pembrokeshire coast, perfect for families who love seaside escapes.

Located on the highly desirable Dale Peninsula in Pembrokeshire, Tŷ Gin (the Gin House, named for the 'ginnys' (donkeys) that once lived here) offers huge, open views of the Pembrokeshire countryside.

This is the part of Pembrokeshire that everyone wants to be in, and this is one of the best quality family properties in the area. Stay here to be very near many of the best beaches in Wales - Marloes, Musselwick, Broad Haven, Little Haven, and Sandy Haven can all be reached in under 15 minutes, so you can choose a different family-friendly beach every day of your holiday. You're effectively surrounded by the sea on three sides, and you'll likely also visit the famous local towns of Tenby and St David's.

The 1754-built barn and its annexe are privately located in their own garden away from the Georgian country house that they once serviced. It's a large, very comfortable detached property that has been well converted - there's an Aga, a couple of wood burners, a Smart TV, and even an EV charger for your car.

The main house sleeps x6 in three bedrooms (each with its own bathroom) and the garden annexe sleeps a further x4 in two rooms which share one shower room (so the property overall accomodates 10 in five rooms, with 4 bathrooms).

customer reviews for *NEW - Tŷ Gin

My family and I stayed at the Tŷ Gin over new year, with two other families. It exceeded all our expectations and was a great base for exploring the beautiful, wild, Welsh coastline. The house itself was super comfy with spacious living arrangements, including a very welcoming kitchen, with Aga, which resulted in some lovely, cosy evenings in. The kids had their own playroom to chill in off the main living room. We enjoyed walking along the blustery cliffs and exploring the beaches below, plus we found a great coastal cafe, Runwayskiln, at Marloes Sands, with excellent views, food and coffee! We'd love to return in the Spring and Summer months to see the puffins and dolphins (although we did see dolphins in December) and to explore this beautiful, quiet coastline further. - Lottie

We had a brilliant and very comfortable stay at Tŷ Gin over New Year’s Eve. Our family of four stayed in the Garden Annexe (The Bothy), which was perfect for our two young children. There was plenty of space to get together with everyone else, and we loved eating together in the evenings in the beautiful, light kitchen. There's a fun playroom for the kids with a large sitting room adjoining it. We went on some beautiful local walks and visited the excellent cafe Runwayskiln. We would love to go back again and explore in the Summertime.

We love staying at the Gin House and have returned to holiday here.  We are a family of 5 including two teenagers. The accommodation is of very high quality.  It is spacious and a lovely living space. The kitchen is well stocked and airy. The outside area is wonderful with spectacular views across the countryside. The location is off the beaten track but close to access the main route to many local beaches and stunning coastline, including award winning Marloes sands and Dale with its water sports which the children loved. It is close to local attractions for making family memories such as boat rides to Skomer island to see the puffins or a local fishing trip, enjoying barbequed mackerel on our return for dinner. A very relaxing break for all the family.  Thank you to the hosts for making us feel very welcome. We can’t wait to return. Janet Oxfordshire

We have stayed in The Gin House 3 times with friends and family numbering between 4 and 9. It is a beautiful, spacious residence well sited for  walking, beach days and exploring Pembrokeshire. There is really good information about local facilities and our national trust card served us well with car parking. The garden is a extremely pleasant place to eat and relax and on wet days the kitchen and sitting room are great venues for long talks and games with friends and family. It was a long drive from Oxford but there are some good stop offs. One needs a car,or two, with a large group as the narrow roads can make for difficult walking from the house but we found they were walkable with due care especially off season.  The charger at the house  was a great bonus. Marloes beach was our favourite, amongst many, with its  excellent farmhouse cafe  and the Welsh Coast Path is difficult to beat and we have walked a lot  in GB,  America and Australia. We have visited the Tŷ Gin twice now and plan to return in the summer. It is a beautiful house, full of character, very well presented, and much better equipped than your usual holiday let. The garden is a lovely area to sit and take in the picturesque views of the surrounding fields and sunsets. Very well located for access to several lovely sandy beaches and walks, it is perfect for a relaxed holiday with friends and family. Highly recommended! Guest, Sarah P.
