A secluded and rustic seventeenth century thatched cottage. The perfect place for a holiday in the heart of rural Sussex that is within 30 minutes of London and Brighton.
This beautiful Listed 17th Century Sussex house is nestled in the most secluded of spots. It is accessed through woodland, along a private track (300 yards) – so feels marvelously remote, surrounded by large gardens and a pond.
The house is comfortably furnished with beautiful antiques alongside more modern pieces. The owners were determined to use only quality materials, fixtures, and fittings in its renovation, so you will find reclaimed and antique finds (many sourced from nearby Ardingly Antiques) that look right at home alongside mid-century inspired lighting, velvet sofas, and stylish linen bedding.
There are wonderful historical details wherever you look, from the ancient beams to the original floorboards, vaulted ceilings, and an inglenook fireplace, but you’ll still enjoy excellent wifi, luxury beds, and a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen.
Sleeping eight in the winter, and ten in the summer, thanks to an additional double bed in the outside hut, this house is wonderful for relaxed groups of friends or family.
It is the perfect place for a holiday in the heart of rural Sussex. The chalky hills of the South Downs or the Ashdown forest are not far away for beautiful walks. Brighton, with its fantastic seafront and many restaurants, is within striking distance. Lewes is a 30-minute drive where you can browse the cafes and antique shops or visit the local independent cinema and you're only 35 miles from central London.

Beautiful and comfortable cottage in lovely secluded surroundings. The kitchen was large and well equipped for cooking. Cosy living room with wood fire. Near some nice walks round Balcombe and Ardingl...
